Toronto, Montreal & Halifax
This programme will give you the chance to see a large portion of Eastern and Atlantic Canada’s diverse landscapes. You’ll be travelling through rural Ontario and charming Quebec, and then cross into the distinct Maritime provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. 7 nights, departs daily (except Fridays)
Day 1 - Arrive Toronto
Arrive at Toronto’s International Airport and transfer independently to your downtown hotel. Pick up your information kit at the front desk when you check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Canada’s commercial and cultural centre. Overnight in Toronto.
Day 2 - Toronto
Discover the many identities of this cosmopolitan city on a sightseeing tour of Toronto. Step aboard the Hippo- the amphibious bus – and enjoy a tour that combines the city’s landmarks and then drive into the water for a boat tour to enjoy the scenery of the Toronto Harbourfront. Admission to the CN Tower is also included. Overnight in Toronto.
Day 3 - Toronto to Montreal - Train
Independent transfer to Union Station to board VIA Rail’s The Corridor train to Montreal. You will be passing quaint little towns along Lake Ontario, the historic city of Kingston, the Thousand Islands region and ride close to the American border before crossing into the province of Quebec. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore this lively city and enjoy its cosmopolitan nightlife. Overnight in Montreal.
Day 4 - Montreal
Today you will be going on a full-day excursion by bus to explore beautiful Quebec City. Your expert guide provides narration as you tour through the only walled city in North America. Highlights include the Upper and Lower Towns, the Parliament Buildings, the Plains of Abraham and the Citadel. You will also visit the spectacle of Montmorency Falls, just outside of Quebec City. Overnight in Montreal.
Day 5 - Montreal to Halifax - Train
On a 3-hour sightseeing tour of Montreal, you will see numerous highlights, such as the Notre Dame Basilica, the financial and residential districts, historic Old Montreal, the charming Latin Quarter and savour the panoramic views from an observation point on top of Mont Royal. Afterwards, you will transfer independently to the train station to board VIA Rail’s The Ocean for Halifax. Overnight on board VIA Rail’s The Ocean. Dinner included.
Day 6 - Halifax
This morning you will wake up to the beautiful scenery of the Baie des Chaleurs. At this point, The Ocean turns southwards and travels across New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, reaching Halifax mid-afternoon. After your train journey, you can start exploring the coastal city of Halifax. Halifax is located on one of the world’s largest natural harbours and bears all the hallmarks of both a modern and historic city. Overnight in Halifax. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day 7 - Halifax
Depending on your travel dates, today may feature a guided tour of the historic city of Halifax (May 26 – September 24 arrivals). 250 years of history will come alive as you walk the streets of one of Atlantic Canada’s premier urban centres. Should your travel dates fall outside of the tour, you are free to explore these wonders independently at your leisure. Overnight in Halifax.
Day 8 - Depart Halifax
Today, transfer independently to Halifax International Airport in time to check-in for your flight home. Alternatively, you can return to Montreal or Toronto by rail.
