Top quality service from start to finish. Adla is absolute Godsend when sorting things out for a perfect holiday. I can’t praise her high enough.

Mr. Grant

Hello Adla,

We had a fantastic time with the RV, which was very spacious, comfortable and easy to use. Even getting in and out of New Jersey was no problem. We would certainly use Canadream again and could find no fault with anything during our travels through Canada and the US.

Once again I would like to say a big thanks from all our group for all your help in organising the RV for us.

John & Jon

Hannah Esdaile, put together our special family trip to BC. Our exact requirements were met and every thing was organised perfectly. Our family were so impressed by the way every thing was so well put together and fell into place. Thank you so much. We would recommend you in the future.

Mrs Taylor

Adla Toal, Wow !! What can I say other than a huge THANK YOU!!!! We have had the most amazing time in Canada. Vancouver was fantastic, such a lovely city, sadly not enough time to pop over to the island (but will do one day) The Rocky Mountaineer was a brilliant experience, all loved it, from the top service to the information to the food - wonderful and highly recommend. Then onto to gorgeous Banff, the views lakes mountains waterfalls and animals left us speechless, truly beautiful. The mountain and lake tour was must do. Onto Toronto, in itself not my favourite of all the places, but nice and I warmed to it Niagra was a truly amazing sight and the boat trip made it so. All the accommodation was outstanding and the people of Canada were so friendly especially in Vancouver and Banff. Thank you so much for your hard work, recommendations and advice Adla. It made a great out of this world family holiday. My eldest wants to work in Canada and we all want to go back to visit more. If so I will definitely be back to you for your brilliant guidance and help.

Mrs A.M. Kirke

I have just returned from this spectacular event and I can truly say it was amazing. Having never been to a “rodeo” I didn't really know what to expect..However, I was in for a real treat, the atmosphere at the Stampede was incredible.
As a Canada Specialist, I have been creating tailor-made itineraries to Canada for over 25 years. I have been very fortunate to have travelled all over this amazing country from all the cities on the East Coast including Niagara Falls all the way through to the West Coast, which includes a train ride through the Rockies on the world famous Rocky Mountaineer in GoldLeaf Service, a ranch & spa stay at Echo Valley Ranch. My husband and I also hired a maxi motorhome and toured through the Rockies where we were lucky enough to catch the Salmon run, now that's a sight to see. So, I thought I had everything covered what this beautiful country has to offer, that was until I went to the Calgary Stampede!
The Calgary Stampede – Dubbed “The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth” and with good reason.
With live music, every night on various stampede stages, full rodeo, the excitement of the chuck-wagon races or the canine stars at the dog bowel, the Calgary Stampede has something the whole family can enjoy. This summer event sells out every year as the entire city is swept up in festival spirit as visitors from around the globe enjoy the community spirit.
My trip to Canada was short but well worth the visit. My top tips are:
My Top Tips:
  • Jump in and participate
  • Local trains to the Stampede park are very busy however there is one every 10 minutes.
  • Bring western wear or pick up your authentic cowboy hat when you are there.
  • As the Calgary weather is always changing, remember to pack your umbrella.
  • Must-try Canadian dish “Poutine” simply delish
  • Don't miss your free pancake breakfast that's on offer city wide.
  • Not to be missed the spectacular firework display at the end of the evening.

May & Brian

Thank you so much for organizing what turned out to be a wonderful holiday. It all went like clockwork so we enjoyed an amazing time.

The flight over was better than expected with regular drink, food and snacks provided.

It was easy to find our transport to our hotel and felt we arrived in style.

The room/suite was ready and staff welcoming. We were comfortable and the location was great.

We particularly liked the concierge service provided by the hotel at a separate desk from the reception. They sorted out taxis, confirmed the minibus city tour and looked after our luggage. Really helpful.

The tour and lookout visit you included was appreciated as it was a rainy morning and so it made good use of time and took us to places we would otherwise have missed.

The taxi booked to get us to the cruise ship was late but the concierge accosted another from the same company and put us in! We found the taxi drivers didn't have clear English but they did the job.

The cruise was excellent and we were blessed with good weather, so even better. We were very happy with the cabin allocation on deck 10 - great place to be. We saw plenty of wildlife and we liked that the Rangers
came aboard to give more information. I would recommend folk get to Canada Place before noon as it took a long time to process 2 shipfuls of passengers aboard through American security.(2hours).

Leaving the ship was better organized. The taxi queue was managed and we were in a taxi from our allotted company as soon as we got to the head of the queue.

Our next few days in Vancouver were great as the Jazz festival was on and Dragon boat racing, and heritage open doors and a Monet exhibition opened. Plenty to do! We also used the hotel self serve laundry to freshen clothes. Quick and easy.

Taxi to the Rocky Mountaineer was fine and once in their hands, service was impeccable! Our bags were forwarded to our room in Kamloops and collected from our room to be taken to Banff. All pressure off. Because they used Caribou lodge, they booked us in at the hotel gave us our room key and had taken our bags to the room again. Lovely! This hotel also gave Brian a bottle of red wine in the room which was appreciated. By registering a credit card with reception we found we could charge breakfast to our room and settle later rather than paying cash. I'm not sure, but I think the card they give you for this purpose also covers restaurants in other hotels along that road which may interest other travelers.

The Roam pass for the buses in Banff provided by the hotel was great. We made full use of it and on one journey met the mayor who had started the scheme and so we had a good natter there.

We did the gondola and found so much at the top to see we were there most of the day! We returned to the area for the hot springs (and elk spotting) later.

We were all independent and booked our own car hire. Then found the desk was in the hotel lobby and the car was in the garage below. So that worked well too.

We forgot to confirm the Brewsters coach to leave Banff. Must have been a subconscious reluctance to leave. However although we worried a bit, we needn't have. Our name was with them and they duly collected us at the hotel at the time on the itinerary.

We checked in at the airport for the 2 flights home and the luggage was checked through so we didn't have to collect it in Toronto. Our only panic was here as the first plane hadn't landed before boarding was due to start on the second flight. We had a very speedy walk the whole length and breadth of Toronto airport it seemed before arriving breathless at the gate whose number we were given on the plane. We knew where we were going, just not how long we had to get there. However boarding had not started and we were able to calm down before the last flight. It was not quite as comfortable, but there was still food and drink provided and we arrived home safely and on time.

So that's it. We're over jet lag now but we still have our photos to go through. We saw bears - black and grizzly, whales, eagles and sea otters. It was every bit as amazing as we wanted it to be so a big thank-you for your work in making it come together. I've already recommended you to a friend (surname Blagdon) who is looking to do something similar when it gets to the top of their list.

Mrs. Smith

Canada Travel Specialists were very knowledgeable at the point of my initial enquiry. We knew we wanted to go to Canada and visit Vancouver, travel on the Rocky Mountaineer and also take in Toronto and Montreal. Canada Travel Specialists turned this request into an excellent itinerary at a great price. The documentation received for our trip was very comprehensive and all arrangements for transfers, trips etc (of which there were many) worked perfectly.

Mr Davies

All arrangements were first class and apart from the odd avalanche no delays were encountered on the trip. All of the day trips/visits were well thought through. The recommendation to ride on the Rocky Mountaineer on the gold tariff was worth the extra.

Mr Slater

As always a great holiday and a great service from Canada Travel Specialists. Highly recommended. We had a great time again in Canada and saw all the wildlife we wanted to see. Would definitely plan to spend more time at Knight Inlet Lodge next time, an amazing place

Our first trip to Canada started in Toronto and Muskoka before flying to Calgary and by car on to Banff and Jasper where we joined the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver, and then Vancouver Island. We hugely valued the efficient organisation by Laura Thomson who was an excellent advisor on the itinerary and the activities we would be likely to enjoy. In all,we stayed in 6 different hotels, and had connections by air, train, car bus and float plane. All went smoothly and added to our love of the Rockies, and indeed the Canadian hospitality we experienced. Thanks to Canada Travel Specialist and Laura.First class!

Mrs Kenning

Thank you to Natalie Stewart for organizing our flight, transport and accommodation in Canada. We rarely travel abroad and it was our first long-haul flight. Everything went smoothly at the air-ports, during the flights and with transport. We arranged our own one-day car-hire through Enterprise to visit the village where my great grand-parents had lived, and would recommend them for their professional friendly service. We had excellent very friendly service at Delta Downtown Hotel in Calgary and loved the Caribou Lodge in Banff for its cosy atmosphere. We were thoroughly spoilt by the excellent service on the Rocky Mountaineer Train and amazed by the contrasts of scenery. We experienced strange weather (a chinook) in Kamloops where we broke our journey on the train. Our hotel (Rosedale on Robson) in Vancouver was large and very busy, in downtown, Yaletown, convenient for cafes etc. We found Vancouver was a city of many contrasts and would have preferred to stay on the outskirts. I would suggest that people travelling to Vancouver (or elsewhere)are given a choice of locations e.g. downtown or outskirts. Ideally we'd have liked another day in Calgary and possibly a day in Kamloops as it was too wet and stormy to explore the town on our arrival that evening. Overall it was an amazing holiday which we'll never forget!

Mr Nightingale

Natalie Stewart, organised a fantastic road trip around Canada for us, it was so good we are thinking of going again in 2017. If your thinking of hiring a camper in Canada then you are looking at he best company to travel with, every thing was arranged by Natalie, the Air Canada flight was very good. The hotel in Calgary was the International in the centre of the downtown region, the transfer from Airport to hotel with Jonview was on time. Canadreams were are very helpful team of people, we hired a Deluxe Camper, (DVC) for the two of us, we did find it a little on the small side and we will have a larger Super Van Conversion (SVC), for our next trip. If you are concerned about driving in Canada, don't be, there driving style is very relaxed the road layouts are simple you just need to think bit more for left turns. Four way stops are simple Just give way to the guy on the right or wait till they all look at you, then you know its your turn, as i said it very easy to drive in Alberta and British Columbia, don't worry about it, it's simple. We covered about 2000 Kms the fuel bill was only $412 around £238. We are already planning our next trip and it will be with Canada Travel Specialists, they have the experience to cater for all your needs. Thanks Steve & Violet Nightingale

Mr Mangan

Adla had been recommended by a friend and she was excellent. Very professional and efficient (& friendly). She took a lot of care in the rarely straight forward booking phase as our details were not straightforward. We got exactly what we wanted. Adla had to wrap the trip around a Celebrity Alaska cruise and a land travel with the flights and a further week in Vancouver/Rocky Mountaineer/Banff. All were sorted. The Vancouver and Banff hotels were excellent and the Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf was quality. The flight timings worked perfectly. Overall, we had probably our best ever trip.

Mrs Eileen

Lifetime holiday Hi my name is Eileen Mackay and I live up in the highlands of Scotland. 3 of my friends and I had planned to go on holiday to celebrate us all turning 40 and 50. We wanted it to be really special. We didn't know where to start. My friend recommended Adla as she had dealt with her before and said she was so helpful and not pressuring at anytime. Well poor Adla because we were a nightmare trying t pin us down and set dates etc. she gave us advice on where to start for eg to write down what we all wanted to do. Well the list eventually was two nights in London going to two shows. Flying then to Calgary for the stampede and we stayed in the most beautiful hotel beside all the attractions and had tickets ready for stampede with party bags and treats included. We had a ball. We then moved onto horse ranch riding up in the mountains for a few days. Spectacular we all cried when we left as we got so fond of the host. We visited lake Louise and Banff. Adla had organised car hire and everything just flowed. The ranch was beautiful. After riding up in the mountains we traveled back to Calgary and flew the next day to cancun for a week on the beach. Woh the hotel and Location was breath taking in a five star hotel all inclusive. After sobering up we arrived back in Glasgow to meet the husbands. Adla excelled herself in finding this experience and organising everything in such an organised way. I cannot thank Adla enough because I was a nightmare to communicate with due to my workload. Adla never got annoyed and is such an asset to your company. We felt we had to write to you because she did this for us so efficiently. So we are all recommending her to family and friends and I am currently trying to book two more hols with her. She has a lot to live up to now because ur experience could not be bettered. Please on our behalf thank Adla for making our dream come true. Please feel free to use my review on your site. Also you are free to use our photos to try and let you capture a little taste of paradise. Thank you Adla you are one in a million. Kind regards Eileen

Miss Robina

We have just returned from our road trip in Canada and the USA. Having visited in the past this vacation was the best by far. Natali Stewart gave us the a comprehensive insite into not only places of interest, a must see if you like but also good quality hotels and restaurants that really complemented each day. We covered just over four thousand kelometers with a vehicle provided by Avis which I must say was first class. The Ford Explorer did not miss a beat. Vancouver island is the jewel of Canada that was until we visited Banff and beyond. It really does take your breath away. Try Lake Louis or Waterton Park you will see what I mean. On route we actually saw a real live Black Bear in the wild , didnt think that would ever happen!!! The US side of the border was every bit inviting Idaho and Montana are out of this world if a little warm at 43deg. Can't thank Natali enough for a wonderful holiday that we will not forget. We have said (god willing) will return in 2018. But really.....We cant wait!!!

Fantastic Canadian adventure expertly arranged by Anne. We started our journey in Glasgow, flying club class to London then on to Calgary, we had 4 days there and attended the marvellous Stampede. We actually got it dry!! From there we were taken by Brewster Travel to Banff, Lake Louise, and Banff(stopping at Bow summit, Columbia Icefields, and Athabasca falls) before joining the Rocky Mountaineer Train to Kamloops then on to Vancouver. We had a couple of nights there before taking the coach and ferry across to Victoria, where we visited the amazing Butchart Gardens. On our return to Vancouver by sea plane we then went on the Celebrity Infinity to Alaska which was incredible. then flew club class back to London/Glasgow. All our transfers were extremely smooth with no delays and hotels were 1st class. Would definitely recommend Canada Travel Specialists to anyone wishing to visit this amazing country.

Adla put together a trip to celebrate my wife,s big birthday I could never have. Calgary stampede, the tour of the Rockies, a night at Fairmont lake Louise, the stay in Vancouver with her sister were all memorable and she loved standing on Athabasca Glacier, marvelled at the views in the Rockies and was scared to death at Flyover Canada. Even the rain at the Stampede just made for greater fun.

Mr Jenkins

I began to plan a 5 week trip across USA and Canada myself. It was complicated (not helped by all the different time zones!): Fly to Chicago then train travel East to West coast of America using overnight sleeper cabins, staying in 4 hotels in the USA before going to Vancouver, then Alaskan Cruise, Rocky Mountaineer to Jasper, then train back across to East coast of Canada stopping at Toronto and then down to New York for a couple of days before flying home. After a couple of weeks of stress I called Barrhead Travel and they put the itinerary together for me. I had a figure in my head I thought I could do it for. They came back with a quote which was slightly above that, but I went with it as it was worth someone else doing all the hard work. Now I have returned from my holiday I now know it was better than I could have done it for as the quality of hotels we got was much higher than I had in mind. Adla Toal emailed us a draft itinerary and we were able to change anything we wanted to with no problems at all. I made 2 minor changes (one a hotel where I preferred somewhere more 'in town' and another where I didn't want a cruise stateroom with a connecting door). Both changes were dealt with literally within an hour each time. 2 weeks before we left home we received a full pack of documentation which covered all flights, train travel, hotels, cruise, Rocky Mountaineer etc. The whole 5 weeks went like clockwork, all paperwork was spot on, all travel links planned meticulously well, all hotels superb. I cannot thank Adla enough for making this a trip of a lifetime. If I had continued to try and plan this myself I am sure we would have ended up sleeping on the floor at some train station somewhere! I urge any of you thinking about using Barrhead Travel to organize this for you to do it - don't hesitate. I will certainly be using them again.

Mr Hill

Thank you for your telephone call this morning am pleased to confirm that all of the
arrangement you made were first class and very professional put together.

The hotel in Times square was exactly what was require --very central and
both the shows (Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera) were FAB-U-LUS.

our Cruise was also very enjoyable and allowed us to visit a number of new
places. The only think to note was that the dinks package excludes bottles
of water which cost $5.50 plus add on for each bottle. I have already
written to NCL on this minor issue.

Once again many thanks for your help

Mrs Harvey

The service provided by Laura Robertson at Barrhead Travel Canada Specialists was of a very high degree. Even the change I made to the itinerary were no problem to her.

Hotels: Calgary airport Acclaim hotel was clean and very close to airport.

Caribou Lodge Banff; A high standard food excellent and room very comfortable, the "hot pool" was something else.

Sawridge Inn Jasper: Excellent, although a little out of town was fine for myself. The staff were very helpful and efficient. Food of a high standard.

Rocky Mountaineer: Onboard the staff are first class, helpful informative and cheerful. The train very comfortable although the AC required to be adjusted several times as it became quite cold.HotelFive540Forty, Kamloops comfortable. The second part of the rail journey was much more interesting than the first part. The Rockies are Majestic.

Airport hotel Fairmont Vancouver of a very high standard although the restaurant was disappointing.

The Cruise on NCL Jewel was excellent. Having sailed on the Jewel before I knew what to expect. The ship is very comfortable and clean, the entertainment of a very high standard and the choice of food in the buffet excellent. Shore Excursions: Ketchican, Saxford Native Village, interesting. Juneau: Mushers camp and sled dog ride very interesting although the puppies were very young and sleepy. Skagway: The best fo the three, The mini coach trip to the Yukon. An excellent and very informative driver/guide "Paul". and a very enjoyable trip. "Lunch" was at 10.45 but was very good.

All in all a very worthwhile experience.

Regent Review

I cannot begin to describe what an amazing trip we had with Regent Seven Seas on board the Mariner and then in the Denali National Park.
The ship was perfection, nothing is too much trouble for the crew. The meals were excellent, entertainment good and the on-board lecturer was knowledgeable and interesting.
Denali park is a must if you want to experience the real wilderness, the scenery took our breath away and we saw grizzly bears, caribou, golden eagles etc.
Our only criticism of the whole trip was the outward bound flight withB.A. Whilst the A 380 is very comfortable there did not seem to be enough crew to handle so many passengers and the service was poor. Also we had an hour's wait for our luggage at Vancouver airport.
Saying that seems petty when everything else was great. Our cases were always where they were supposed to be and the guides and drivers couldn't have been better.
To anyone considering Alaska GO it has to be seen to be believed. Also take the wilderness tour in Denali. It is a long day but the bus is comfortable and it is the only way to see the animals properly in their natural habitat.
Cannot rate the holiday highly enough

Mrs Knoller

We stumbled across the website by accident whilst searching Alaska deals, and could not be happier or more satisfied with the service of our agent Laura Robertson. We started planning this special birthday trip 7 months prior to our Alaska cruise with Holland America on Ms Nieuw Amsterdam. Prior to our confirming our booking, the options and prices were emailed over to us and any queries, questions and requests we later had were dealt with in a most efficient and professional manner. Laura listened, was not pushy and was not robotic. She certainly understood our needs and everything she expertly recommended went to plan and it's thanks to her that this special trip of a lifetime will never be forgotten. We would not hesitate to book through you again and have already recommended your company to our friends. Thank you very much for a memorable holiday.

Mr & Mrs Dulry

I cannot speak highly enough of your planning skills for our holiday to Canada.  Everything without exception went like clockwork and the itinerary you worked out for us was perfect and nothing was left to chance. I thank you for a trouble free holiday. The Rocky Mountaineer exceeded our expectations and again couldn't fault the two day trip. Everything including the staff where more than 100%.All in all a fabulous time.We would recommend you and use you again. May I say you are a credit to yourself and your company.
Again our thanks
Mr & Mrs Duley

Mrs Ford

The whole holiday was so well planned - it involved flights, cruise, taxis and hotels and all went so smoothly. This was all due to Hannah who took so much trouble sending information etc much more than I have experienced at other travel agents - I will definitely be using Barr Head Travel again. Thank you Hannah and all other staff who I spoke to nothing was too much trouble

Mr & Mrs Dixon

I have used Canada Travel Specialists on two occasions to take two very different holidays in Canada. I have found Craig to be helpful and very efficient and have been guided to places that as an active retired couple met our needs. Our most recent trip as independent travellers took as to some amazing hotels with terrific views over mountains, rivers and the ocean. More importantly we were within walking distance to some really good trails and opportunities to visit small museums and take trips on the sea and in the sky. With everything planned by Travel Specialists  we have enjoyed being independent but have had confidence in the hotels and areas they have recommended. Our trip took us to Vancouver, Whistler, Campbell River, Ucluelet and Victoria leaving from and returning to our local airport of Norwich.

Mr & Mrs Watson

My wife and I have recently completed a holiday arranged by Craig Mcallister.

Every thing went without a hitch.

I had problems obtaining the ETA for Canada and I would particularly like to thank Craig and Michelle for their efforts in solving these problems and enabling us to make the trip.

They certainly went the extra mile and we are very grateful!

…We booked the holiday to Canada and Alaska as it was on my husband's bucket list but when we checked the dates of the last Alaskan cruise, our dates couldn't match, so Canada Travel Specialists arranged a tailor-made one for us with the whole holiday reversed. What a wonderful time!! The whole holiday (flight to Vancouver, a week's cruise to Alaska, 3 days Vancouver, trip on the Rocky Mountaineer train and then back to Banff for 3 days) was everything we expected and more besides. It certainly was the holiday of a lifetime with service at every stage out of this world. I can't praise this travel company highly enough and would (and have!) recommend them strongly. – Thanks Joyce

…We dealt with Craig who we found to be very knowledgeable and helpful and has continued to be so - thank you Craig keep up the excellent work - and thank you Canada Travel Specialists for the very competitive price!! We would not hesitate to recommend Craig  and personal recommendation is how we came to book our holiday. Thanks – Chris

……I cannot fault the staff at Canada Travel Specialists at all, they made our holiday so special. We are a family of 5 and we often struggle to find hotels that cater for us to stay in one room and they sorted it all out. I will definitely use them now for all our holidays to Canada and I would recommend them to anyone wishing to travel there. You are all polite, friendly and enthusiastic and you gave us so much advise of thing to do and see. Now all we can say is a big Thank you. – Andrea

……Our Travel Adviser Michelle was very helpful and knowledgeable in organising our trip to Canada and our itinerary Michelle was able to guide us the on best resorts to visit and the best hotels to stay in. When we asked to vary our time to spend in Vancouver and Victoria she took care of everything and made sure we were happy with the choice of hotels. We would definitely recommend her to our family and friends. – Thanks Christine

Micheal Ellis

……Very pleased with how well our travel advisor Hannah planned and tailored our holiday over the telephone to Canada (Vancouver, Alaska Cruise, Rocky Mountaineer, Banf and Quebec). A holiday of a lifetime for us, expensive but good value. -  Michael Ellis

……Wanting to go to Canada for a long time and with a special birthday coming up for my husband I contacted Canada travel specialist's on-line and told them what I wanted and they were absolutely brilliant and sent me an itinerary back the same day and with just a little bit of tweaking am happy to say I booked the trip. I know that between when the trip was booked and right up until I go I can count on them to help with any queries or problems I may have, I would recommend them to anyone thinking about going to Canada. – Margaret

David Taylor

….A superb experience from beginning to end. We did a tailored itinerary put together by Natalie Stewart at Barrhead including Banff, Jasper, Rocky Mountaineer, Vancouver and a cruise on Celebrity Infinity to Alaska and back. The hotels/rooms were great, side trips perfect, instructions and connections flawless. Even had complimentary champagne on my birthday at Fairmont Waterfront hotel. Would arrange future trips through Canada Travel Specialists. Full marks  and Natalie, in particular. Well done. – David Taylor

Mr & Mrs Walker

…….Many thanks to Adla  at Canada Travel Specialists  for booking and organizing this holiday it was just perfect throughout ,we were very impressed from the start, and everything went perfectly ,the hotels were first rate, and the Rocky Mountaineer train and the alaska cruise were fantastic ,we will be telling all our friends about the holiday and the service that we received thank you so much for a holiday of a life time - Mr and Mrs Walker

……..Our holiday to Canada was amazing! Everything went like clockwork.
Our hotel in Vancouver, the Georgian Court was lovely and so were the staff. The food from the in house restaurant was really good too. You were right about the ship, it was great. I think having the balcony, for us, was essential. Fantastic watching the world go by with a drink in your hand and the sun on your face!

The Rocky Mountaineer was fantastic. I would recommend anyone to go Gold Leaf if at all possible. The seats were so comfortable and we could see so much. The food was of such a high standard and the staff knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They work so hard! Banff was a lovely little town and our hotel was great. Our trip to Lake Louise was for me the highlight of the entire trip! Unless you have been you just can't describe the beauty of the place. The Deer Lodge was a nice comfortable hotel. Would definitely recommend the Heritage rooms.

I would like to thank you Laura for arranging a fantastic trouble free holiday of a lifetime.
We will recommend Canada Travel Specialists to all of friends….

….Found the experience very relaxed no hard sell, all information was informative and relevant. The sales person was very knowledgeable and no silly question I asked was a problem - Gary

……I did some really intensive research on line, then approached 4 different travel agencies for details and quotes. Of them all, this company provided the best and most personalised service, and the best overall price. My emails and phone calls were answered quickly and courteously, with all the information I asked for. The agent was extremely well informed and willingly offered all sorts of helpful advice and clarification. I booked a fabulous holiday at a really competitive price. Thank you!

…..We had an amazing time on our honeymoon! Everything went really well and it was great to have it all organised for us - we certainly couldn’t have done it better ourselves even with months of planning. We absolutely loved Canada and all the places we visited. It was just the right balance between time to relax and being kept busy with trips and excursions. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone in the future. Ill certainly be in touch with Natalie when were planning our next big trip! Thanks again for everything. Kind Regards, Elaine

Mr Fox

Best holiday ever, the accommodation was wonderful, room upgrades given on two occasions (suites). The schedule was on time, coaches, car and train were handled with vouchers and worked beautifully.
As for the sights and scenery - unforgettable.

We just loved it all and the friendly Canadians was a bonus.

Only one unpleasant point, with the return coach ride from Victoria to the Ferry back to Vancouver, we had return tickets and joined the queue for the coach. The guy loading the bags was a bit miserable and said we should have gone inside to get our bags tagged, as they drop off at several locations.

Mr Norton

We had no problems with our holiday arrangements. Hotels, transfers and car hire went well. Our itinerary had a mixture of Seattle, Vsncouver and The Rockies was excellent. So much to do and see that easily filled up our three week stay. The Rockies offer a landscape and wildlife that far exceeds anything Britain can offer. Seeing bears, Elk, Eagles, Otters and Orca was magical. The Rocky Miuntaineer is a must for train lovers - exceptional service. Canadians are friendly and we were made to feel very welcome.

Mrs Paterson

The arrangements worked like clockwork from start to finish. We upgraded to a suite in Delta Whistler for very little and due to the weather it was worth it. The peak to peak gondola experience is a must. Whistler is beautiful and very relaxing.

Suite in Century Plaza Vancouver was a little dated but very clean and comfy, the food in the restaurant was amazing and plentiful. I would happily go back.
We were upgraded on the Alaskan cruise to deck 9. Not too sure what the difference was from the room we booked, but the room was lovely. Inside cabin, so with hindsight I would at least book a room with a window. The boat was lovely and again the food was great.

Upgraded on the flight home that was a bonus
Downside was the poor weather, but it didn't hamper us.
Service from Nikki our travel consultant was amazing - so helpful

Mr Cox

We had an enjoyable holiday in Canada and Alaska despite a number of transfers between different destinations all went very smoothly with taxis and coach available all to time. The quality of the rooms in Vancouver was very good with our second night on the 21st floor with tremendous views.

The Alaskan cruise was to a high standard but did not appreciate only 4 days out of 7 you could leave the ship although there were a number of activities to keep us entertained which we would not normally had done.

The cruise was very relaxing with wonderful scenery passing by that you would unlikely see anywhere else. The day the ship visited the Hubbard glazier with mini icebergs floating by was a once in a lifetime experience.

Mrs Ray

I have already sent an e-mail to Michelle Holt reiterating the above "worth every penny". The organisation throughout was faultless and the accommodations were excellent. We were very happy with the Canadian side of the holiday and the Princess Cruise around Alaska was excellent too. Would like to do something similar but a different area of Canada.

The journey on the Rocky Mountaineer train was the highlight of the holiday for my husband but I personally enjoyed every part of the holiday.

Mr Taylor

The organisation on the whole trip was just amazing and everything went like clockwork. Michelle organised the whole trip for us after we told her what we would like to see and do so full marks for her. I think if we were doing it again we would spend longer in each place apart from Toronto which was like a giant building site. Maybe it didn't help that we were there thanksgiving weekend so everything was shut but it still came nowhere near any of the other towns or cities we went to. The Rocky Mountaineer was a wonderful experience. The scenery, staff and weather all first class as was the Alaska cruise. Vancouver is a lovely city and we wished we had had longer on Vancouver Island as it was beautiful. Our train journey from Montreal to Toronto was beautiful with all the fall colours.

Mrs Murphy

We enjoyed re-visiting Canada. Vancouver is the most amazing city with the bustle of the shops and the beauty of the shore what more could you want. Our hotel Century Plaza was well located and had a good restaurant and coffee shop but the rooms were very dated and dingy.

Toronto was much busier and has a lot of construction work in nearly every district so it was quite difficult to get around and was very noisy - would not go back to Toronto other than the fact that if you want to go to Niagra Falls. We would have liked the opportunity to stay in Niagra on The Lake for a couple of days, perhaps next time.

Banff and Jasper were great, we enjoyed some good unseasonal temperatures and the rocky mountaineer was as ever fab with Brandie our canadian host she was the best !!

Princess cruise to Alaska was very relaxing and some of the sights were incredable

Mrs Donald

Tremendous holiday with lots of different memories. The holiday was one my husband and I will never forget. I must give full marks to adla from Barrhead, glasgow who was very helpful, knowledgeable and patient and would highly recommend her expertise to anyone wishing to go on a trip to canada

Mr Edgerton

A most fantastic holiday package.
I contacted Barrhead Travel to provide a forteen day holiday to include a cruise and rail journey to Alaska and the Canadian Rockies, and what a brilliant job they did.
The flights, hotels, cruise ship and rail trip were all beyond our expectations. It was truely a holiday of a lifetime.Everything was planned within our "holiday window" giving us hotel breaks between flights, cruise and rail trip.
Even the weather was unbelievable throughout the whole fortnight.
Well done and thank you very much.

Mrs Carpenter

We were very impressed with the organisation and all our transfers went smoothly no problems whatsoever. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. The hotels we stayed in were excellent. Loved the Caribou Lodge in Banff and recommend their restaurant. The journey from Banff to Jasper was beautiful across the Colombia Icefields parkway. We all enjoyed walking on the Glacier that was a great experience. The Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to Vancouver was amazing. The service and the food were first class. Had a little problem in the hotel in Vancouver the Century Plaza the toilet flooded within 5 minutes of us arriving but it was quickly rectified. Also had to keep asking for more towels as they kept providing towels just for two people and we were three. Loved Victoria in Vancouver Island the hotel the Inn at Laurel Point was in an excellent location. Great views across the harbour and close to restaurants and main shopping area. We went on a whale watching trip was was fantastic as we saw a lot of whales. However one of the engines blew up on the way back and we had to stop at a different port and bussed back which meant we didn't go to see the seals.

A week in the Rockies followed by a week in Vancouver was just the right balance especially for our teenage daughter. We loved the beautiful scenery lakes and occasional wild life (didn't see many bears or elks sadly )
We loved Vancouver being in the city and then going across to Vancouver Island and being by the sea.

An unforgettable holiday, lovely memories to last a lifetime.

Mr Tully

The scenery of British Columbia and Alberta is outstanding and because we travelled both by train and independently by car, we were able to experience both the organised and independent methods. Both have their pluses but for us undoubtedly the ability to stop where ever, when ever and for as long as we chose would be the superior way to go. This is particularly easy in this part of the world since the driving seems very sedate by U.K. standards and speed limits which appear to be respected are on the whole quite low so a tourist does not feel they are a rolling road block.

Mr Thornton

What a fantastic holiday. Our trip included a mix of cities and national parks. We saw all the major tourist attractions and lots more in such a short time. The route was well thought out and the maps were easy to follow. The accomodation booked for us was superb.

Mrs Beeharry

It was a great trip - I cannot speak highly enough of the Niagara Airbus tours. Toronto hotel was great, on the harbour on the lake Ontario. I wish I could have spent more time there.

Niagara and especially Niagara on the Lake is a must. We had lovely weather which enhanced the experience. The tour was great and our guide Sheralyn was brilliant.

Not sure about the Hilton hotel itself in Niagara - it needs some updating. Reception was lukewarm, with a definite lack of enthusiasm. But the concierge services made up for it. But the restaurants close by were good.

Mrs Smith

What an experience! From landing at Vancouver to Boarding at Calgary, everything was superb! The accommodation, hotels, service in hotels and on the cruise, the cruise itself, staff were all brilliant. Hotels were first class and transfers between hotels, ship, train were so well organised and smooth running with food and drink while we were waiting to board. I think the best experience was seeing two small bear cubs in the forest arguing over a dead salmon - like two naughty children! Only negative comment I would make is that the trips from the cruise were rather expensive. Overall, it was a holiday never to forget.

Mr Adams

A bespoke holiday cruising to Alaska, return to Vancouver and then the Rocky mountaineer railway that was put together for our golden wedding aniversary. This turned out to be one of the most spectacular holidays we have ever taken.

Mrs Banister

We had a wonderful holiday and were very lucky with the weather. Everything looked just like the photos that you see in travel brochures and all the arrangements worked well. The scenery was truly stunning and people were very friendly and helpful. The Rocky Mountaineers was a memorable experience - it was well worth going on Gold Leaf service. The Rimrock Hotel in Banff and the Inn at Laurel Point in Victoria were especially nice hotels with good positions, food and service. The Chateau Jasper in Jasper was a bit 'weary' in decor but the evening meals were wonderful, probably the best we had.

We would have liked an extra night in Jasper and also in Victoria to have made the trip perfect but it is always difficult to co-ordinate everything and of course it would have increased the cost on what was the most expensive holiday we have taken so far.

Mr Wittle

Firstly a massive big thank you to all those in Barrhead who made this holiday possible and such a success.
The service we experienced from inception and delivery to conclusion was exceptional.

Despite a few of my misgivings about the travel arrangements, particularly tight internal transfers, never happened and the whole holiday went without any major hitch. The internal Air Canada flights were a particular success with no delays or missed flights or lost baggage. The staff were very helpful at all times.

The hotels were excellent and got better as the holiday progressed made even better with a number of unexpected upgrades we received. Overall service, friendliness and assistance was excellent across Canada. The choice of food on the whole was also of a high standard apart from one hotel (The Best Western, Charlotte Town, PrinceEdward Island) which was only able to provide a rather packaged basic breakfast (but we had probably been rather spoilt by then). The hotel room itself was very good just the lack of on-site eating facilities.

Venues were great but on reflection would have preferred to stay longer at Niagra and Victoria if we had our time again. Vancouver itself was not such a pleasant experience so many vagrants around you and felt dangerous at night compared to anywhere else in Canada, although this speaks more to lack of care and concern by the local government in Vancouver. I would not rate this city high as a tourist destination, Victoria on the other hand was a great place.

Highlights were Niagra Falls (especially the nighttime fireworks over them), coach trips to Glacier Experience in Rockies, Maligne Lake, Rocky Mountaineer Gold Class Train from Jasper to Vancouver, Whale watching trip (where we experience a Super Pod of Orca's) and wild life/ scenery in general across the whole holiday.

We had an added bonus of early winter snow across the Rockies which meant we have some marvellous pictures and sights to hold onto. Downside was that the Skywalk was closed and we could not experience this. Our tour guide indicated that we should let you know about this as we had paid for it but did not experience it. We did however get ride onto glacier which was another highlight.

The one real negative from a very enjoyable and successful holiday was the hotel provided by Rocky Mountaineer Experience in Kamloops (we have indicated our thoughts on hotel to company) which was in our opinion not even as good as a Travel Lodge in UK and given cost of this element was poor value. The train experience itself and service / food on the other hand was exceptional value.

Overall all our expectations were either met or bettered and this was indeed a holiday of a life time. Many thanks again to Barrhead for organising such a great holiday for us.
