Hannah Esdaile, put together our special family trip to BC. Our exact requirements were met and every thing was organised perfectly. Our family were so impressed by the way every thing was so well put together and fell into place. Thank you so much. We would recommend you in the future.
Craig and Natalie
Our Canada expert Craig was able to experience first hand the grizzly bears of Knight Inlet Lodge, read all about it below!
He recently visited Campbell River with a 2 night Grizzly bear viewing trip at the Lodge on Glendale Cove.
From flying into the Inlet on a Float Plane up to seeing these amazing animals up close, the whole experience was a dream come true.
The Bears put on a show as they romped around play fighting and caught and ate salmon just metres from the viewing stand.
This floating lodge offers out of this world tours, including rainforest hikes, bear tracking tours and Inlet cruises to view whales and eagles up close
Adla Toal, Wow !! What can I say other than a huge THANK YOU!!!! We have had the most amazing time in Canada. Vancouver was fantastic, such a lovely city, sadly not enough time to pop over to the island (but will do one day) The Rocky Mountaineer was a brilliant experience, all loved it, from the top service to the information to the food - wonderful and highly recommend. Then onto to gorgeous Banff, the views lakes mountains waterfalls and animals left us speechless, truly beautiful. The mountain and lake tour was must do. Onto Toronto, in itself not my favourite of all the places, but nice and I warmed to it Niagra was a truly amazing sight and the boat trip made it so. All the accommodation was outstanding and the people of Canada were so friendly especially in Vancouver and Banff. Thank you so much for your hard work, recommendations and advice Adla. It made a great out of this world family holiday. My eldest wants to work in Canada and we all want to go back to visit more. If so I will definitely be back to you for your brilliant guidance and help.
Mrs A.M. Kirke

Thank you so much for organizing what turned out to be a wonderful holiday. It all went like clockwork so we enjoyed an amazing time.
The flight over was better than expected with regular drink, food and snacks provided.
It was easy to find our transport to our hotel and felt we arrived in style.
The room/suite was ready and staff welcoming. We were comfortable and the location was great.
We particularly liked the concierge service provided by the hotel at a separate desk from the reception. They sorted out taxis, confirmed the minibus city tour and looked after our luggage. Really helpful.
The tour and lookout visit you included was appreciated as it was a rainy morning and so it made good use of time and took us to places we would otherwise have missed.
The taxi booked to get us to the cruise ship was late but the concierge accosted another from the same company and put us in! We found the taxi drivers didn't have clear English but they did the job.
The cruise was excellent and we were blessed with good weather, so even better. We were very happy with the cabin allocation on deck 10 - great place to be. We saw plenty of wildlife and we liked that the Rangers
came aboard to give more information. I would recommend folk get to Canada Place before noon as it took a long time to process 2 shipfuls of passengers aboard through American security.(2hours).
Leaving the ship was better organized. The taxi queue was managed and we were in a taxi from our allotted company as soon as we got to the head of the queue.
Our next few days in Vancouver were great as the Jazz festival was on and Dragon boat racing, and heritage open doors and a Monet exhibition opened. Plenty to do! We also used the hotel self serve laundry to freshen clothes. Quick and easy.
Taxi to the Rocky Mountaineer was fine and once in their hands, service was impeccable! Our bags were forwarded to our room in Kamloops and collected from our room to be taken to Banff. All pressure off. Because they used Caribou lodge, they booked us in at the hotel gave us our room key and had taken our bags to the room again. Lovely! This hotel also gave Brian a bottle of red wine in the room which was appreciated. By registering a credit card with reception we found we could charge breakfast to our room and settle later rather than paying cash. I'm not sure, but I think the card they give you for this purpose also covers restaurants in other hotels along that road which may interest other travelers.
The Roam pass for the buses in Banff provided by the hotel was great. We made full use of it and on one journey met the mayor who had started the scheme and so we had a good natter there.
We did the gondola and found so much at the top to see we were there most of the day! We returned to the area for the hot springs (and elk spotting) later.
We were all independent and booked our own car hire. Then found the desk was in the hotel lobby and the car was in the garage below. So that worked well too.
We forgot to confirm the Brewsters coach to leave Banff. Must have been a subconscious reluctance to leave. However although we worried a bit, we needn't have. Our name was with them and they duly collected us at the hotel at the time on the itinerary.
We checked in at the airport for the 2 flights home and the luggage was checked through so we didn't have to collect it in Toronto. Our only panic was here as the first plane hadn't landed before boarding was due to start on the second flight. We had a very speedy walk the whole length and breadth of Toronto airport it seemed before arriving breathless at the gate whose number we were given on the plane. We knew where we were going, just not how long we had to get there. However boarding had not started and we were able to calm down before the last flight. It was not quite as comfortable, but there was still food and drink provided and we arrived home safely and on time.
So that's it. We're over jet lag now but we still have our photos to go through. We saw bears - black and grizzly, whales, eagles and sea otters. It was every bit as amazing as we wanted it to be so a big thank-you for your work in making it come together. I've already recommended you to a friend (surname Blagdon) who is looking to do something similar when it gets to the top of their list.
Canada Travel Specialists were very knowledgeable at the point of my initial enquiry. We knew we wanted to go to Canada and visit Vancouver, travel on the Rocky Mountaineer and also take in Toronto and Montreal. Canada Travel Specialists turned this request into an excellent itinerary at a great price. The documentation received for our trip was very comprehensive and all arrangements for transfers, trips etc (of which there were many) worked perfectly.
All arrangements were first class and apart from the odd avalanche no delays were encountered on the trip. All of the day trips/visits were well thought through. The recommendation to ride on the Rocky Mountaineer on the gold tariff was worth the extra.
As always a great holiday and a great service from Canada Travel Specialistsl. Highly recommended. We had a great time again in Canada and saw all the wildlife we wanted to see. Would deifinitely plan to spend more time at Knight Inlet Lodge next time, an amazing place
Our first trip to Canada started in Toronto and Muskoka before flying to Calgary and by car on to Banff and Jasper where we joined the Rocky Mountaineer to Vancouver, and then Vancouver Island. We hugely valued the efficient organisation by Laura Thomson who was an excellent advisor on the itinerary and the activities we would be likely to enjoy. In all,we stayed in 6 different hotels, and had connections by air, train, car bus and float plane. All went smoothly and added to our love of the Rockies, and indeed the Canadian hospitality we experienced. Thanks to Canada Travel Specialist and Laura.First class!
Thank you to Natalie Stewart for organizing our flight, transport and accommodation in Canada. We rarely travel abroad and it was our first long-haul flight. Everything went smoothly at the air-ports, during the flights and with transport. We arranged our own one-day car-hire through Enterprise to visit the village where my great grand-parents had lived, and would recommend them for their professional friendly service. We had excellent very friendly service at Delta Downtown Hotel in Calgary and loved the Caribou Lodge in Banff for its cosy atmosphere. We were thoroughly spoilt by the excellent service on the Rocky Mountaineer Train and amazed by the contrasts of scenery. We experienced strange weather (a chinook) in Kamloops where we broke our journey on the train. Our hotel (Rosedale on Robson) in Vancouver was large and very busy, in downtown, Yaletown, convenient for cafes etc. We found Vancouver was a city of many contrasts and would have preferred to stay on the outskirts. I would suggest that people travelling to Vancouver (or elsewhere)are given a choice of locations e.g. downtown or outskirts. Ideally we'd have liked another day in Calgary and possibly a day in Kamloops as it was too wet and stormy to explore the town on our arrival that evening. Overall it was an amazing holiday which we'll never forget!
Natalie Stewart, organised a fantastic road trip around Canada for us, it was so good we are thinking of going again in 2017. If your thinking of hiring a camper in Canada then you are looking at he best company to travel with, every thing was arranged by Natalie, the Air Canada flight was very good. The hotel in Calgary was the International in the centre of the downtown region, the transfer from Airport to hotel with Jonview was on time. Canadreams were are very helpful team of people, we hired a Deluxe Camper, (DVC) for the two of us, we did find it a little on the small side and we will have a larger Super Van Conversion (SVC), for our next trip. If you are concerned about driving in Canada, don't be, there driving style is very relaxed the road layouts are simple you just need to think bit more for left turns. Four way stops are simple Just give way to the guy on the right or wait till they all look at you, then you know its your turn, as i said it very easy to drive in Alberta and British Columbia, don't worry about it, it's simple. We covered about 2000 Kms the fuel bill was only $412 around £238. We are already planning our next trip and it will be with Canada Travel Specialists, they have the experience to cater for all your needs. Thanks Steve & Violet Nightingale
Adla had been recommended by a friend and she was excellent. Very professional and efficient (& friendly). She took a lot of care in the rarely straight forward booking phase as our details were not straightforward. We got exactly what we wanted. Adla had to wrap the trip around a Celebrity Alaska cruise and a land travel with the flights and a further week in Vancouver/Rocky Mountaineer/Banff. All were sorted. The Vancouver and Banff hotels were excellent and the Rocky Mountaineer Gold Leaf was quality. The flight timings worked perfectly. Overall, we had probably our best ever trip.
arrangement you made were first class and very professional put together.
The hotel in Times square was exactly what was require --very central and
both the shows (Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera) were FAB-U-LUS.
our Cruise was also very enjoyable and allowed us to visit a number of new
places. The only think to note was that the dinks package excludes bottles
of water which cost $5.50 plus add on for each bottle. I have already
written to NCL on this minor issue.
Once again many thanks for your help
The service provided by Laura Robertson at Barrhead Travel Canada Specialists was of a very high degree. Even the change I made to the itinerary were no problem to her.
Hotels: Calgary airport Acclaim hotel was clean and very close to airport.
Caribou Lodge Banff; A high standard food excellent and room very comfortable, the "hot pool" was something else.
Sawridge Inn Jasper: Excellent, although a little out of town was fine for myself. The staff were very helpful and efficient. Food of a high standard.
Rocky Mountaineer: Onboard the staff are first class, helpful informative and cheerful. The train very comfortable although the AC required to be adjusted several times as it became quite cold.HotelFive540Forty, Kamloops comfortable. The second part of the rail journey was much more interesting than the first part. The Rockies are Majestic.
Airport hotel Fairmont Vancouver of a very high standard although the restaurant was disappointing.
The Cruise on NCL Jewel was excellent. Having sailed on the Jewel before I knew what to expect. The ship is very comfortable and clean, the entertainment of a very high standard and the choice of food in the buffet excellent. Shore Excursions: Ketchican, Saxford Native Village, interesting. Juneau: Mushers camp and sled dog ride very interesting although the puppies were very young and sleepy. Skagway: The best fo the three, The mini coach trip to the Yukon. An excellent and very informative driver/guide "Paul". and a very enjoyable trip. "Lunch" was at 10.45 but was very good.
All in all a very worthwhile experience.
The ship was perfection, nothing is too much trouble for the crew. The meals were excellent, entertainment good and the on-board lecturer was knowledgeable and interesting.
Denali park is a must if you want to experience the real wilderness, the scenery took our breath away and we saw grizzly bears, caribou, golden eagles etc.
Our only criticism of the whole trip was the outward bound flight withB.A. Whilst the A 380 is very comfortable there did not seem to be enough crew to handle so many passengers and the service was poor. Also we had an hour's wait for our luggage at Vancouver airport.
Saying that seems petty when everything else was great. Our cases were always where they were supposed to be and the guides and drivers couldn't have been better.
To anyone considering Alaska GO it has to be seen to be believed. Also take the wilderness tour in Denali. It is a long day but the bus is comfortable and it is the only way to see the animals properly in their natural habitat.
Cannot rate the holiday highly enough
We stumbled across the website by accident whilst searching Alaska deals, and could not be happier or more satisfied with the service of our agent Laura Robertson. We started planning this special birthday trip 7 months prior to our Alaska cruise with Holland America on Ms Nieuw Amsterdam. Prior to our confirming our booking, the options and prices were emailed over to us and any queries, questions and requests we later had were dealt with in a most efficient and professional manner. Laura listened, was not pushy and was not robotic. She certainly understood our needs and everything she expertly recommended went to plan and it's thanks to her that this special trip of a lifetime will never be forgotten. We would not hesitate to book through you again and have already recommended your company to our friends. Thank you very much for a memorable holiday.

My wife and I have recently completed a holiday arranged by Craig Mcallister.
Every thing went without a hitch.
I had problems obtaining the ETA for Canada and I would particularly like to thank Craig and Michelle for their efforts in solving these problems and enabling us to make the trip.
They certainly went the extra mile and we are very grateful!
…We booked the holiday to Canada and Alaska as it was on my husband's bucket list but when we checked the dates of the last Alaskan cruise, our dates couldn't match, so Canada Travel Specialists arranged a tailor-made one for us with the whole holiday reversed. What a wonderful time!! The whole holiday (flight to Vancouver, a week's cruise to Alaska, 3 days Vancouver, trip on the Rocky Mountaineer train and then back to Banff for 3 days) was everything we expected and more besides. It certainly was the holiday of a lifetime with service at every stage out of this world. I can't praise this travel company highly enough and would (and have!) recommend them strongly. – Thanks Joyce
…We dealt with Craig who we found to be very knowledgeable and helpful and has continued to be so - thank you Craig keep up the excellent work - and thank you Canada Travel Specialists for the very competitive price!! We would not hesitate to recommend Craig and personal recommendation is how we came to book our holiday. Thanks – Chris
……I cannot fault the staff at Canada Travel Specialists at all, they made our holiday so special. We are a family of 5 and we often struggle to find hotels that cater for us to stay in one room and they sorted it all out. I will definitely use them now for all our holidays to Canada and I would recommend them to anyone wishing to travel there. You are all polite, friendly and enthusiastic and you gave us so much advise of thing to do and see. Now all we can say is a big Thank you. – Andrea
……Our Travel Adviser Michelle was very helpful and knowledgeable in organising our trip to Canada and our itinerary Michelle was able to guide us the on best resorts to visit and the best hotels to stay in. When we asked to vary our time to spend in Vancouver and Victoria she took care of everything and made sure we were happy with the choice of hotels. We would definitely recommend her to our family and friends. – Thanks Christine
……Very pleased with how well our travel advisor Hannah planned and tailored our holiday over the telephone to Canada (Vancouver, Alaska Cruise, Rocky Mountaineer, Banf and Quebec). A holiday of a lifetime for us, expensive but good value. - Michael Ellis
……Wanting to go to Canada for a long time and with a special birthday coming up for my husband I contacted Canada travel specialist's on-line and told them what I wanted and they were absolutely brilliant and sent me an itinerary back the same day and with just a little bit of tweaking am happy to say I booked the trip. I know that between when the trip was booked and right up until I go I can count on them to help with any queries or problems I may have, I would recommend them to anyone thinking about going to Canada. – Margaret
….A superb experience from beginning to end. We did a tailored itinerary put together by Natalie Stewart at Barrhead including Banff, Jasper, Rocky Mountaineer, Vancouver and a cruise on Celebrity Infinity to Alaska and back. The hotels/rooms were great, side trips perfect, instructions and connections flawless. Even had complimentary champagne on my birthday at Fairmont Waterfront hotel. Would arrange future trips through Canada Travel Specialists. Full marks and Natalie, in particular. Well done. – David Taylor
Mr & Mrs Walker
…….Many thanks to Adla at Canada Travel Specialists for booking and organizing this holiday it was just perfect throughout ,we were very impressed from the start, and everything went perfectly ,the hotels were first rate, and the Rocky Mountaineer train and the alaska cruise were fantastic ,we will be telling all our friends about the holiday and the service that we received thank you so much for a holiday of a life time - Mr and Mrs Walker
……..Our holiday to Canada was amazing! Everything went like clockwork.
Our hotel in Vancouver, the Georgian Court was lovely and so were the staff. The food from the in house restaurant was really good too. You were right about the ship, it was great. I think having the balcony, for us, was essential. Fantastic watching the world go by with a drink in your hand and the sun on your face!
The Rocky Mountaineer was fantastic. I would recommend anyone to go Gold Leaf if at all possible. The seats were so comfortable and we could see so much. The food was of such a high standard and the staff knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. They work so hard! Banff was a lovely little town and our hotel was great. Our trip to Lake Louise was for me the highlight of the entire trip! Unless you have been you just can't describe the beauty of the place. The Deer Lodge was a nice comfortable hotel. Would definitely recommend the Heritage rooms.I would like to thank you Laura for arranging a fantastic trouble free holiday of a lifetime.
We will recommend Canada Travel Specialists to all of friends….
….Found the experience very relaxed no hard sell, all information was informative and relevant. The sales person was very knowledgeable and no silly question I asked was a problem - Gary
…..We had an amazing time on our honeymoon! Everything went really well and it was great to have it all organised for us - we certainly couldn’t have done it better ourselves even with months of planning. We absolutely loved Canada and all the places we visited. It was just the right balance between time to relax and being kept busy with trips and excursions. I would have no hesitation in recommending you to anyone in the future. Ill certainly be in touch with Natalie when were planning our next big trip! Thanks again for everything. Kind Regards, Elaine
As for the sights and scenery - unforgettable.
We just loved it all and the friendly Canadians was a bonus.
Only one unpleasant point, with the return coach ride from Victoria to the Ferry back to Vancouver, we had return tickets and joined the queue for the coach. The guy loading the bags was a bit miserable and said we should have gone inside to get our bags tagged, as they drop off at several locations.
The arrangements worked like clockwork from start to finish. We upgraded to a suite in Delta Whistler for very little and due to the weather it was worth it. The peak to peak gondola experience is a must. Whistler is beautiful and very relaxing.
Suite in Century Plaza Vancouver was a little dated but very clean and comfy, the food in the restaurant was amazing and plentiful. I would happily go back.
We were upgraded on the Alaskan cruise to deck 9. Not too sure what the difference was from the room we booked, but the room was lovely. Inside cabin, so with hindsight I would at least book a room with a window. The boat was lovely and again the food was great.
Upgraded on the flight home that was a bonus
Downside was the poor weather, but it didn't hamper us.
Service from Nikki our travel consultant was amazing - so helpful
We had an enjoyable holiday in Canada and Alaska despite a number of transfers between different destinations all went very smoothly with taxis and coach available all to time. The quality of the rooms in Vancouver was very good with our second night on the 21st floor with tremendous views.
The Alaskan cruise was to a high standard but did not appreciate only 4 days out of 7 you could leave the ship although there were a number of activities to keep us entertained which we would not normally had done.
The cruise was very relaxing with wonderful scenery passing by that you would unlikely see anywhere else. The day the ship visited the Hubbard glazier with mini icebergs floating by was a once in a lifetime experience.
The journey on the Rocky Mountaineer train was the highlight of the holiday for my husband but I personally enjoyed every part of the holiday.
Toronto was much busier and has a lot of construction work in nearly every district so it was quite difficult to get around and was very noisy - would not go back to Toronto other than the fact that if you want to go to Niagra Falls. We would have liked the opportunity to stay in Niagra on The Lake for a couple of days, perhaps next time.
Banff and Jasper were great, we enjoyed some good unseasonal temperatures and the rocky mountaineer was as ever fab with Brandie our canadian host she was the best !!
Princess cruise to Alaska was very relaxing and some of the sights were incredable
I contacted Barrhead Travel to provide a forteen day holiday to include a cruise and rail journey to Alaska and the Canadian Rockies, and what a brilliant job they did.
The flights, hotels, cruise ship and rail trip were all beyond our expectations. It was truely a holiday of a lifetime.Everything was planned within our "holiday window" giving us hotel breaks between flights, cruise and rail trip.
Even the weather was unbelievable throughout the whole fortnight.
Well done and thank you very much.
We were very impressed with the organisation and all our transfers went smoothly no problems whatsoever. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and interesting. The hotels we stayed in were excellent. Loved the Caribou Lodge in Banff and recommend their restaurant. The journey from Banff to Jasper was beautiful across the Colombia Icefields parkway. We all enjoyed walking on the Glacier that was a great experience. The Rocky Mountaineer from Jasper to Vancouver was amazing. The service and the food were first class. Had a little problem in the hotel in Vancouver the Century Plaza the toilet flooded within 5 minutes of us arriving but it was quickly rectified. Also had to keep asking for more towels as they kept providing towels just for two people and we were three. Loved Victoria in Vancouver Island the hotel the Inn at Laurel Point was in an excellent location. Great views across the harbour and close to restaurants and main shopping area. We went on a whale watching trip was was fantastic as we saw a lot of whales. However one of the engines blew up on the way back and we had to stop at a different port and bussed back which meant we didn't go to see the seals.
A week in the Rockies followed by a week in Vancouver was just the right balance especially for our teenage daughter. We loved the beautiful scenery lakes and occasional wild life (didn't see many bears or elks sadly )
We loved Vancouver being in the city and then going across to Vancouver Island and being by the sea.
An unforgettable holiday, lovely memories to last a lifetime.
It was a great trip - I cannot speak highly enough of the Niagara Airbus tours. Toronto hotel was great, on the harbour on the lake Ontario. I wish I could have spent more time there.
Niagara and especially Niagara on the Lake is a must. We had lovely weather which enhanced the experience. The tour was great and our guide Sheralyn was brilliant.
Not sure about the Hilton hotel itself in Niagara - it needs some updating. Reception was lukewarm, with a definite lack of enthusiasm. But the concierge services made up for it. But the restaurants close by were good.
We would have liked an extra night in Jasper and also in Victoria to have made the trip perfect but it is always difficult to co-ordinate everything and of course it would have increased the cost on what was the most expensive holiday we have taken so far.
Firstly a massive big thank you to all those in Barrhead who made this holiday possible and such a success.
The service we experienced from inception and delivery to conclusion was exceptional.
Despite a few of my misgivings about the travel arrangements, particularly tight internal transfers, never happened and the whole holiday went without any major hitch. The internal Air Canada flights were a particular success with no delays or missed flights or lost baggage. The staff were very helpful at all times.
The hotels were excellent and got better as the holiday progressed made even better with a number of unexpected upgrades we received. Overall service, friendliness and assistance was excellent across Canada. The choice of food on the whole was also of a high standard apart from one hotel (The Best Western, Charlotte Town, PrinceEdward Island) which was only able to provide a rather packaged basic breakfast (but we had probably been rather spoilt by then). The hotel room itself was very good just the lack of on-site eating facilities.
Venues were great but on reflection would have preferred to stay longer at Niagra and Victoria if we had our time again. Vancouver itself was not such a pleasant experience so many vagrants around you and felt dangerous at night compared to anywhere else in Canada, although this speaks more to lack of care and concern by the local government in Vancouver. I would not rate this city high as a tourist destination, Victoria on the other hand was a great place.
Highlights were Niagra Falls (especially the nighttime fireworks over them), coach trips to Glacier Experience in Rockies, Maligne Lake, Rocky Mountaineer Gold Class Train from Jasper to Vancouver, Whale watching trip (where we experience a Super Pod of Orca's) and wild life/ scenery in general across the whole holiday.
We had an added bonus of early winter snow across the Rockies which meant we have some marvellous pictures and sights to hold onto. Downside was that the Skywalk was closed and we could not experience this. Our tour guide indicated that we should let you know about this as we had paid for it but did not experience it. We did however get ride onto glacier which was another highlight.
The one real negative from a very enjoyable and successful holiday was the hotel provided by Rocky Mountaineer Experience in Kamloops (we have indicated our thoughts on hotel to company) which was in our opinion not even as good as a Travel Lodge in UK and given cost of this element was poor value. The train experience itself and service / food on the other hand was exceptional value.
Overall all our expectations were either met or bettered and this was indeed a holiday of a life time. Many thanks again to Barrhead for organising such a great holiday for us.
We had a fantastic time with the RV, which was very spacious, comfortable and easy to use. Even getting in and out of New Jersey was no problem. We would certainly use Canadream again and could find no fault with anything during our travels through Canada and the US.
Once again I would like to say a big thanks from all our group for all your help in organising the RV for us.
Top quality service from start to finish. Adla is absolute Godsend when sorting things out for a perfect holiday. I can’t praise her high enough.
