Alaska Holidays

Reference CTS9519

Book an Alaska holiday and you'll soon be heading off to arrive into a destination that needs to be experienced to be believed.

Along its coast, you’ll be greeted by staggering Alaskan glaciers while orcas and humpback whales breach in the adjacent Pacific Ocean. As you venture inland you’ll stumble upon lush green pine forests, vast national parks, and North America’s highest peak: Mount McKinley.

The unspoilt landscape is also perfect for wildlife spotting, with bears, elk and moose all calling this incredible landscape home. Oh, and the night sky is regularly graced by the multi-coloured tones of the aurora borealis.

Your base for your Alaskan holiday adventure will be Anchorage. Home to less than 300,000 people, the city still holds onto its pioneering heritage and is known for its cultural sites, including the Native Heritage Center, Alaska Aviation Centre, and the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center.

To explore the wider state, we recommend the Alaska Railroad that connects Anchorage to Seward, Talkeetna, Fairbanks and Denali National Park. The railroad offers five different routes, some of which take you to places that the few roads in Alaska can’t reach.

All passengers enjoy large windows, knowledgeable tour guides, assigned seating, forward-facing reclining seats, open-air vestibules, and non-smoking cars. Passengers who opt for GoldStar Service will also be treated to panoramic views from a glass-dome ceiling, an upper-level outdoor viewing deck, meals in the onboard dining room, all soft beverages, and two adult alcoholic beverages per trip.

And, of course, there’s the iconic Alaska Cruises. Choose between Vancouver, Seattle or San Francisco as your starting point and visit incredible destinations along the way including Juneau, the Inside Passage, Ketchikan, and Skagway.
