1. The Calgary Stampede is an absolute must-do if you are planning to visit Calgary. The world’s largest rodeo, it might just be Canada’s biggest party: enjoy musical concerts, spectacular stunts and awesome pyrotechnics, local food and drink, parades, a midway with plenty of rides for kids of all ages, as well as shopping and the ubiquitous pancake breakfast.
2. Calgary Tower is a one hundred ninety one meter observation tower right in the centre of downtown Calgary. Go for the panoramic city views, but stay for lunch or dinner at one of the two fine dining establishments: Ruth’s Chris is located at the base of the tower, it’s a high-end steak house that features Alberta AAA Beef. Sky 360 is at the top, and it features a slowly revolving deck that offers spectacular views of the city while you enjoy modernist Canadian haute cuisine that is focused on fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
3. Enjoy a day of family fun at Heritage Park, Canada’s largest interactive history museum. Features include a historical village complete with re-enactments and historical characters, a railway town, rides, and over one hundred and eighty exhibits depicting the settlement of western Canada.
