Drive in your own virtual chuckwagon and try your hand and axe-throwing and rock climbing amongst other activities. There is also a huge Ferris wheel providing panoramic views over the city.

Visit the Indian Village

An integral part of the Calgary Stampede for over 100 years, the Indian Village helps to preserve the relationship of the city with First Nation families. The Indian Village is home to 26 tipis representing five nations. Take a closer look at you will be met with unique designs, outfits and artefacts which will allow you to learn all about the fascinating history of Canada’s indigenous people.

Live like a cowboy/cowgirl

Attending the Calgary Stampede gives you the chance to learn about all things country. Activities include cattle trails, barn tours and petting zoos, providing fun for all ages! If you want to live like a cowboy, there are also blacksmith and sheep-shearing demonstrations.

You won’t find anything like the chuckwagon races of the Calgary Stampede anywhere else in the world. This crazy event involves 36 drivers using 216 horses over 9 nights, with four wagons in each race trying to cross the finish line first. The prize? A cool $1,150,000 in cash. Make sure you take to your seats early to get the best view in the house.
