From Toronto and Montreal, to 400 year old Quebec City to the modern port of Halifax, the largest city in the Maritimes where you will join a fun filled tour through the city streets before jumping on a coach to hear the crashing waves of majestic Peggy’s Cove.  No trip to Nova Scotia is complete without a visit to this beautiful, rustic fishing village on the Atlantic shoreline. Day 1
Toronto

Upon arrival in Toronto today transfer (included) to your downtown hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the sights of Canada’s largest city. Overnight – Toronto

Day 2
Niagara Falls

Enjoy an all day excursion to world famous Niagara Falls with its thundering waters and ever present mist. Lunch is included at Niagara Falls. Return to Toronto in the early evening via the scenic settlement of Niagara-on-the- Lake. (Lunch is included today) Overnight - Toronto

Day 3
Kingston

Enjoy the facilities of the Business Class Lounge before boarding the train. Complimentary newspapers and non-alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge. Once on your way, the train follows the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes of North America, to Trenton Junction, where the St. Lawrence River flows from the lake. Just past Napanee, look south as you cross the river to view a series of beautiful waterfalls, before arriving into Kingston. This historic Canadian city, was the early capital of the “Province of Canada” (1841-1867) and is the birthplace of Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald. Here, you cross the Rideau Canal, built in 1832 to connect Kingston with Ottawa and was originally designed after the War of 1812 to guarantee a supply route north of the US border in the event of another war. Day 4
Kingston

Spend the morning visiting Fort Henry which still watches the approach from Lake Ontario and the UNESCO recognized Rideau Canal system; discover the many museums or simply explore the lakefront town where winding cobblestone paths give a European feel. Today’s lunch is taken in a beautiful setting on a 1000 Islands cruise. Enjoy a three course meal while gliding past small cottage islands and grand estates and listening to commentary about the history and folklore of the region. (Lunch is included today) Overnight - Kingston

Day 5
Montreal

The morning is yours for some final explorations of Kingston before you travel by VIA Rail along the magnificent St. Lawrence River to Montreal where your day ends. (Lunch is included today) Overnight - Montreal

Day 6
Montreal

Montreal offers a number of unique attractions. From some of North America’s oldest and most spectacular architecture to professional sports and botanical treasures. Enjoy a 3-hour tour of the city, taking in more than 200 points of interest including: a stop at the Notre Dame Basilica, residential and financial districts, Old Montreal, French Quarter, outside view of Olympic Site, McGill University and a panoramic view from an observation point on top of Mont Royal. The balance of the day is yours to enjoy Montreal. Overnight - Montreal

Day 7
Quebec

Enjoy the facilities of the Business Class Lounge before boarding instructions. Complimentary newspapers and non alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge. Following the St. Lawrence River, pass from city suburbs to the rural landscapes of forests and rich pastures, dotted with tiny villages that extend to Quebec City. For the first hour, you will note the rugged Monteregian Hills that seem to loom up from nowhere; these huge volcanic mounds were formed over 120 million years ago. There are seven of these hills in a row, including Mont Royal in Montreal, ending with Monte Rouge near the tiny village of Boloeil. Many of the trees you view are maple trees, producing the great Canadian staple, maple syrup. Your rail journey is just over two hours to Quebec, the oldest walled city in North America and heart of the French Canadian culture of Canada. In Quebec, arrive at Gare du Palais, located near the harbour in the old Port, Quebec. Steeped in history, Quebec is the most charming city in Canada, almost 400 years old and most of the original architecture and buildings have been lovingly preserved. (lunch is included today). Check out of your Quebec City Hotel and make your way (independently) to the VIA Rail Station where you will board ‘The Ocean’ for your overnight journey to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Overnight On board VIA Rail

Day 9
Halifax

The rail journey to Halifax continues onboard the ‘Ocean’. From Quebec City, travel through the rural communities of Quebec’s south shore to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. A late afternoon arrival and transfer on your own to your hotel begins your stay in Atlantic Canada. Breakfast and lunch are served onboard the train. Overnight – Halifax

Full day to explore Halifax – Overnight – Halifax

Day 11
Halifax

Today you will depart the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Peggy’s Cove has been an artists and explorers paradise for well over 150 years. This picture postcard village, on the rugged Atlantic shoreline, stands on solid rock above crashing surf. The lighthouse is the most photographed lighthouse in the world. Enjoy some free time to exploring the rocks, the trails, the village and the gift shops. Overnight – Halifax

Day 12
Halifax

Check out of your Halifax Hotel and make your way (independently) to Halifax Airport for your return flight back to the UK
