An epic west coast journey; check out Seattle’s Pike Place and Space Needle before embarking on an Alaska Cruise.   Then head to Vancouver, a city surrounded by mountains, the start of your Rocky Mountaineer Adventure.  Cap off the Canadian Rockies adventure with a visit to Banff and Lake Louise; some of the most photographed scenery in the world.  Complete your west coast exploration with some retail therapy at the West Edmonton Mall, North America’s largest shopping centre.

Itinerary

Depart the UK to Seattle, Washington.  On arrival transfer to your hotel and overnight.

Morning to explore Seattle before embarking in the afternoon on Royal Caribbean International’s Ovation of the Seas for your 7-night Alaskan Cruise.

Day at sea to relax, and explore your ship.  Why not seek out the rock climbing wall, the flow rider and the Ripcord.

Juneau and Inside Passage - Take in this stunning region of coastal mountains, fjords, temperate forests, glaciers and the awe-inspiring scenery from the comfort of your ship. Whales, sea lions and sea otters may accompany you on your journey.

Skagway – You may want to ride the White Pass and Yukon railroads in a vintage rail car, learning the fascinating history of the Klondike Gold Rush or meet a musher from the world-famous Iditarod dog-sled race or discover Skagway’s breath-taking mountains and glaciers on a thrilling helicopter trip.

Endicott Arm Fjord - Keep an eye out for bears, eagles and harbour seals on your trip through spectacular Endicott Arm Fjord. Be amazed by the sheer granite walls soaring high above the fjord and the towering waterfalls cascading down.

At Sea – Time to sit back and relax on your day at sea - it’s yours to enjoy.

Victoria, British Columbia – You may want to take a garden tour of floral Victoria on Vancouver Island, known as the City of Gardens or if you are an  outdoor lover you may want to try some biking, kayaking, fishing, zip-lining and whale watching. A must see visit would be to the world famous Butchart Gardens.

Disembark in Seattle and make your way to your overnight hotel.  Spend the remainder of the day visiting the Chihuly Gardens or check out the famous Pike Place Market or take a ride to the top of the famous Seattle Space Needle.

Another full day to explore Seattle at your own pace.

Today you will transfer by coach to Vancouver where you will overnight.

Today you will board the award-winning Rocky Mountaineer and begin your journey to Banff.  Travel through the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons as you following the Thompson River an on to Kamloops where you will overnight.

Continue your rail journey on the luxurious Rocky Mountaineer travelling east to the province of Alberta.  Again you will see spectacular scenery, travel through the Spiral Tunnels and witness glaciers and snow-capped peaks as you go deeper into the Canadian Rockies arriving in the mountain town of Banff where you will overnight.

Time to Explore Banff.  If you’re looking for the best view, then the Banff Gondola is a must.  Have your camera to see one of the most famous Canadian sites from the top of Sulphur Mountain.  End your evening by dining out in downtown Banff.

Depart your Banff hotel and collect your hire car and take the short drive to beautiful Lake Louise where you will spend the night.  Make sure you pack your camera so you can capture a perfect shot of the iconic turquoise lake.

Depart Lake Louise and make your way north along the world-famous Icefields Parkway to Jasper, ranked as one of the most scenic drives in the world.  On route stop off at the Columbia Icefield visitors centre where we have included, just for you, a ride onboard an Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier for a ride you will never forget.  Continue north and onto Jasper where you will overnight.

Leave the mountain resort of Jasper behind and head to Edmonton where you will overnight.  Check out the West Edmonton Mall where you can shop till you drop as it’s the largest mall in North America.

Return your hire car at Edmonton Airport and board your flight back to the UK with wonderful memories to last a life time.
