Today, drive the scenic one-hour journey from Lake Louise to Canmore. Canmore is an authentic mountain community, where real people from all walks of life live; including an impressive list of accomplished mountaineers, and Olympic athletes. The atmosphere is quiet and laid back. On route to Canmore, watch for deer and elk crossing the specially constructed wildlife bridges over the highway. Alternatively, take a more leisurely drive along the Bow Valley Parkway for views of Castle Mountain and Johnston Canyon where you can take an easy 20 minute stroll to the lower falls or a moderate 45 minute trek to the spectacular upper waterfalls. Overnight in Canmore.

Today is yours to explore Canmore and the neighboring area. Banff is a short 15 minute drive away as well if you wish to explore this beautiful historic town. In Banff visit Canada’s very first Hot Springs, take a ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy the stunning views from the top or take a leisurely stroll along Banff Avenue while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight in Canmore.

After returning your rental car at the Rocky Mountaineer station in Banff, travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of the BC Interior. Enjoy the spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the Interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Overnight in Kamloops.

Your journey continues towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. You will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver. Overnight in Vancouver.

Your holiday ends upon checkout from your Vancouver hotel, and make your way to Vancouver Airport for your flight back to the UK. Why not extend your stay and explore more of Vancouver and Vancouver Island or even board an Alaska Cruise!
