Sunshine Village is located within Banff National Park with uninterrupted views of awe-inspiring mountain terrain. It is also known as Canada’s number one hiking area, offering nature walks, gondola rides, biking and hot springs. This self-drive tour includes two nights at the rustic Sunshine Mountain Lodge, car rental for 4 days allowing you to explore, and a 2 day rail journey onboard the famous Rocky Mountaineer.

Arrive in Calgary and collect your rental car. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore Calgary. Enjoy your complimentary admission to the Calgary Tower. Overnight in Calgary.
This afternoon begin your journey from Calgary through beautiful Kananaskis Country and the ranching regions of Alberta before arriving in Lake Louise. Enjoy a morning lakeshore stroll around Lake Louise, or for the more adventurous, a hike up to Lady Agnes Tea House (1-2 hours one way). Overnight in Lake Louise.
After departing Lake Louise, take a breathtaking detour to Lake Moraine and Valley of the Ten Peaks where the view is nothing less than spectacular. Take a leisurely drive along the Bow Valley Parkway for stunning views of Castle Mountain. Be sure to stop at Johnston Canyon where you can take an easy 20 minute stroll to the lower falls or a moderate 45 minute trek to the spectacular upper waterfalls. Upon arrival to the base of Sunshine Village, you can choose to travel up to the Village either by Gondola or Shuttle bus. Transportation cost included. Overnight in Sunshine Village.
Today is yours to explore Sunshine Village in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, 7,200 feet high on the Continental Divide. Surrounded by some of Canada’s highest peaks, Sunshine Meadows has stunning alpine trails, with views that are beyond compare. Known as Canada’s #1 Day hiking spot, there is no better way to spend your morning surrounded by nature. After a morning of leisure you may want to take the gondola down and spend a few hours checking out Banff. In Banff, you can visit Canada’s very first Hot Springs, take a ride up to the top of Sulphur Mountain to enjoy the stunning views from the top or take a leisurely stroll along Banff Avenue while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. After returning your rental car at the Rocky Mountaineer station in Banff, travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the mountain town of Banff to Kamloops, in the heart of the BC Interior. Enjoy the spectacular array of scenery as you travel between the glacier and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies, over mountain passes and through remarkable tunnels, along rocky lakeshores and across the ranchlands of the Interior. Today’s highlights include the Continental Divide, the Spiral Tunnels, Kicking Horse Canyon, Rogers Pass, and Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven. Overnight in Kamloops.
Your journey continues towards the Pacific Ocean and the coastal city of Vancouver. You will again see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests, to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon. Your rail journey ends on arrival in Vancouver.
