Make your way to the Fairbanks train station to pick up your train transfer on the Denali Star. Afternoon at leisure before you check in to your hotel.
Today you will explore Denali Park. This full-day narrated coach trip explores the entire 92 miles of the restricted Denali Park. During your journey, your experienced driver-guide will help in the search for bear, moose, caribou, Dali sheep and other wildlife while pointing out the biology and geology of the area. There are numerous stops for wildlife viewing, photography and to stretch your legs and enjoy a complimentary snack. Lunch is included at Denali Backcountry Lodge. While there, you can take a nature walk or try panning for gold. The return journey by bus offers a different perspective of the stunning landscapes and more opportunities for wildlife viewing. Make your way to the train station for your transfer from Denali to Talkeetna. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight near the town of Talkeetna
The tour takes you within 6 miles of Denali’s north summit (19,470 feet) and south summit (20,320 feet). Enter an ancient world of rugged high mountain peaks, towering snow-capped mountains and glacier-filled valleys and explore the south and east faces of Denali. View the vertical rise of Denali starting at its base of around 2,000 feet. Take in the flowing river of the Ruth Glacier, the renowned Sheldon Amphitheater (glacier landings did here), the Great Gorge with its mile-high granite walls – the world’s deepest, and the intense blue meltwater pools that dot the glaciers.
