Itinerary

Depart the UK for your journey to Alaska.

Overnight in the heart of downtown Fairbanks.

Make your way to the Fairbanks train station to pick up your train transfer on the Denali Star.  Afternoon at leisure before you check in to your hotel.

Today you will explore Denali Park.  This full-day narrated coach trip explores the entire 92 miles of the restricted Denali Park.  During your journey, your experienced driver-guide will help in the search for bear, moose, caribou, Dali sheep and other wildlife while pointing out the biology and geology of the area.  There are numerous stops for wildlife viewing, photography and to stretch your legs and enjoy a complimentary snack.  Lunch is included at Denali Backcountry Lodge.  While there, you can take a nature walk or try panning for gold.  The return journey by bus offers a different perspective of the stunning landscapes and more opportunities for wildlife viewing.  Want to get back a different way – ask about pre-booking the floatplane transfer!  Overnight Denali.

Make your way to the train station for your transfer from Denali to Talkeetna.  Afternoon at leisure.  Overnight near the town of Talkeetna

The tour takes you within 6 miles of Denali’s north summit (19,470 feet) and south summit (20,320 feet).  Enter an ancient world of rugged high mountain peaks, towering snow-capped mountains and glacier-filled valleys and explore the south and east faces of Denali.  View the vertical rise of Denali starting at its base of around 2,000 feet.  Take in the flowing river of the Ruth Glacier, the renowned Sheldon Amphitheater (glacier landings did here), the Great Gorge with its mile-high granite walls – the world’s deepest, and the intense blue meltwater pools that dot the glaciers. Overnight Talkeetna

Transfer from Talkeetna to Anchorage Park.  Overnight downtown Anchorage.  Afternoon and evening at leisure.

Alaska experience of a lifetime! After an hour and ten-minute thrilling flightseeing tour from Anchorage to Lake Clark National Park and Preserve, you will land at Redoubt Mountain Lodge.  Knowledgeable bear viewing guides escort you by boat to lakeside areas where bears feed on spawning wild Alaska salmon.  Situated at the headwaters of Bristol Bay, Lake Clark National Park and Preserve is an epitome of the Alaska wilderness landscape.  At four million acres, the Park encompasses volcanoes, jagged mountains, glaciers, wild rivers, waterfalls and diverse Alaska wildlife populations.   Don’t forget your sunglasses, bug spray, camera and binoculars.  Dress comfortably and in layers, Alaska weather can change quickly and dramatically.  Overnight Anchorage

Transfer to the airport and return to the UK.
