Things to do in Vancouver? Well, you're spoiled for choice. So take today's optional city tour and you'll be guided through the highlights. These include seeing restored Gastown, colourful Chinatown, and Burrard Inlet waterfront, before you cross the Lion's Gate Bridge into 'North Van'. You can also admire the scenery from a cable car that takes you to the summit of Grouse Mountain, a mountain that towers to over 1,200 m (4,000 feet) in altitude at its peak. Got a head for heights? Then don't miss the chance to experience the famous Capilano Suspension Bridge which stretches over a vertiginous gorge. Following the tour, you're welcome to explore the area at your own pace.
On today's optional excursion, you can take a ferry ride across the Georgia Strait to visit beautiful Vancouver Island and the unashamedly 'British' provincial capital of British Columbia, Victoria. You can explore the vast Parliament Buildings and grand Empress Hotel too, all set around the gorgeous Inner Harbour. And you can visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens, where you'll find over a million plants including several hundred floral species.
Travel, through the coastal ranges and along the scenic Sea to Sky Highway, to the British Columbian resort of Whistler. There, you'll stay for one night in what is a world-class winter sports and summer hiking resort. In fact, you may remember seeing Whistler's dramatic scenery (and superb facilities) on TV a few years ago as the city co-hosted the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Head through dramatic scenery to Sun Peaks. This modern alpine village, high in the BC interior, is a renowned ski resort and popular year-round destination
Continue north, past towering Mount Robson (the Rockies' highest peak), to Jasper, at the gateway to the vast wilderness of Jasper National Park. As well as glaciers, lakes and peaks, the park is home to elk, moose, bighorn sheep and bears. And if you travel between June and September your tour will include a special 'Grizzly Bear Valley' river cruise, and the chance to see some of the region's wildlife in its stunning natural habitat.
Spend today relaxing in Jasper, or make the most of your holiday by joining today's optional excursion. This includes a ride on the historic Jasper Skytram (Canada's longest) to the scenic heights above. You'll also journey to the Maligne Lake which is famed for its intense blue waters and spectacular setting.
The Icefields Parkway is a Canadian national treasure, a route that stretches 232 km (144 miles.) through the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks UNESCO World Heritage Site. After travelling along the Parkway, head to Lake Louise, where turquoise waters, frozen for much of the year, are set against the epic backdrop of Victoria Glacier. Afterwards, you'll continue to your next port of call and hotel in Banff
Explore the unofficial capital of the Rockies, the mountain community town of Banff. Whilst you're there, make sure you join an optional sightseeing tour. That way, you'll be able to enjoy a cable-car ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain and a trip to scenic Surprise Corner viewpoint which overlooks the famous Banff Springs Hotel. You'll also be able to sign up for helicopter flight through the mountains: a truly unforgettable experience.
Today you'll transfer to Calgary Airport for your overnight flight back to the UK.
