DAY 1 : UK - Toronto.

Fly to Toronto where you will transfer to your hotel for two nights.

DAY 2 : Toronto - Niagara Falls - Toronto.

See Toronto's major landmarks, including the banking district, City Hall, the CN Tower and Roger's Stadium. Next, enjoy a visit to thundering Niagara Falls. View the falls from scenic points along the edge of the gorge, then go on board the sightseeing cruise for a close up view from the river below the falls. NOTE: The operation of the Niagara Falls sightseeing cruise is subject to favourable weather and/or river conditions. Usually favourable conditions exist from May to the end of October. When unfavourable conditions exist, a walking tour through the scenic tunnels will be offered.

DAY 3 : Toronto - Kingston - Ivy Lea - Ottawa.

Leave Ontario's capital and stop in Kingston, a city with an exciting history dating back more than 300 years. Continue to quaint Gananoque and Ivy Lea, where you'll enjoy a scenic cruise along the St Lawrence River, past wooded islands dotted with beautiful summer homes. Then proceed along the route of the Rideau Canal to Ottawa, Canada's beautiful capital city.

DAY 4 : Ottawa.

Queen Victoria chose this small lumber town as the site for Canada's capital, neatly avoiding the conflicting views of Toronto and Montreal. This morning see the Canadian Mint, the embassy district and stately Parliament Hill. Also visit the Royal Canadian Mounted Police stables. Suggestions for this afternoon include the magnificent Canadian Museum of History or the array of restaurants and shops at the lively Byward Market. NOTE: Due to seasonal hours, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police Stables will be closed and unavailable for the following departures 21 Apr, 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 Sep and 6 Oct 2016.

DAY 5 : Ottawa - Quebec City area.

Today, drive into the French-Canadian province of Quebec, where you will notice a change in language and tradition. Travel along the picturesque Ottawa River Valley to arrive in historic Quebec City, the heart of French Canada and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

DAY 6 : Quebec City area.

Enjoy an included guided tour of Quebec City which is North America's only walled city, crowned by the great turrets of the Chateau Frontenac. Old Quebec was the centre of New France and is now one of the most historic and best-preserved cities in North America. Within the walls are the Place d'Armes, the Laval Seminary and the star-plan Citadelle. Also see the stone houses crowding the narrow streets of Lower Town and ancient Place Royal by the St Lawrence River, and the historic Plains of Abraham where General Wolfe stormed the slopes. The afternoon is free.

DAY 7 : Quebec City area - Montreal.

This morning why not take an optional excursion to Erabliere le Chemin du Roy Sugar Cabin for breakfast and a guided visit with a presentation about maple extraction? Afterwards, head south for cosmopolitan Montreal. As you enter Montreal, see the canted tower of the Olympic Stadium. Major attractions on this afternoon's guided sightseeing tour include Old Montreal and the Seminary of St Sulpice, Mont Royal and modern Montreal. In the evening be sure to try out one of the many sidewalk cafés specialising in French cuisine with a Canadian influence.

DAY 8 : Montreal - Toronto.

The day begins with a visit to Upper Canada Village, one of the largest and most complete living history museums in Canada. During your visit you will be transported back in time to the 1860s. Afterwards travel back to Toronto, Ontario's capital. NOTE: During Apr, May and Sep, Upper Canada Village will operate on a limited basis. Departures 18, 21 Apr; 1, 8, 15, 19, 22, 29 Sep and 6 Oct 2016 will have the benefit of a private guided tour of selected sites.
