Fall Colours of Ontario and Quebec Self Drive with Canada & New England Cruise

The palette of autumn knows no boundaries as the changing foliage sweeps from the shoreline of the St. Lawrence all the way to eastern coastlines of the United States.  You will combine a land based fall viewing tour with a spectacular 7 night cruise with stops throughout the Canadian Maritimes and north New England.

Day 1: Fly from UK to Toronto

Upon arrival into Toronto Airport, collect your hire car and make your way to your overnight hotel.

Day 2: Toronto

Spend a second day exploring this vibrant city at your own pace.

Day 3: Keene

Today head northeast of Toronto. In less than 2 hours of driving, the landscape transforms from an ultra-modern metropolis to idyllic cottage communities set along the waterfront of inviting clear lakes.

Day 4: Keene

Wake to the sounds of the water lapping along the shoreline as the sounds of the forest welcome you to a day of activity and adventure.

Day 5: Kingston/Gananoque

Travel into the lush forests of the St. Lawrence basin and embark on a cruise of the 1000 Islands region.

Day 6: Ottawa

Turn north into the hinterlands of Ontario. Arrive at the nation’s capital of Ottawa

Day 7: Tremblant

Ascend the Laurentian Mountains into the resort village of Tremblant.

Day 8: Tremblant

Enjoy a full day in Tremblant, perhaps with a hike on any of the local trails. Within Tremblant village, local shops and restaurant provide everything from local wines and beers to unique artwork and boutique products

Day 9: Quebec City

Returning to the shores of the St. Lawrence, passing numerous historical French-Canadian villages. Arriving at the walls that circle Quebec City, a magnificent UNESCO Heritage Site dominated by cobblestone streets, historic buildings.

Day 10: Quebec City

A full day to discover why this historic, useums and monuments invite all visitors take a journey back to a fascinating past.

Day 11: Sherbrooke/Magog

The road leads to the south shore of the St. Lawrence River and down into the heartland of Quebec.

Day 12: Montreal

A short drive through the outlying communities and suburbs of Montreal provides ample time to check in and discover the many delights of the city.

Day 13: Cruise the St Lawrence Seaway

Today board your cruise ship for a 7 night cruise up the St. Lawrence River and down the east coast of the Maritimes into the USA. All meals onboard included.

Day 14: Quebec City

As seen from the river, the battlements and buildings of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, convince visitors that they have arrived at an ancient European city. Overnight on board Holland America Line cruise ship.

Day 15: Cruising the Gulf of St. Lawrence

A day spent on the water cruising up the St. Lawrence as it widens and the waters of the river begin mixing with those of the ocean. At this confluence, whales often gather to feed in the warmer waters where their food is plentiful.

Day 16: Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Today you leave Jasper behind and tour to Banff. Enjoy the wildlife, pristine lakes, and breathtaking mountain peaks along the world famous Icefields Parkway. Visit the natural wonder of the Columbia Icefield - one of the largest expanses of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. Step onboard an Ice Explorer for an interpretive adventure onto the Athabasca Glacier. At the Glacier Skywalk, enjoy the unobstructed view on a glass-floored observation platform extending 30 metres out over the Sunwapta Valley.

Day 17: Sydney, Nova Scotia

Day 18: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Halifax is located on one of the great natural harbors and adorned with landmarks like the Citadel fortress, Pier 21 (Canada's Ellis Island), and the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic. Visit Peggy's Cove and the German village of Lunenburg.

Day 19: Bar Harbour, Maine

One of the most rugged cities of the eastern United States.

Day 20: Disembark Boston

Disembark your cruise ship and make your way to your overnight hotel. Remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 21: Boston to UK

Today checkout of your Boston hotel and make your way to Boston Airport for your return flight back to the UK
