Day 4

Today you'll 'hit the highway', travelling through Indiana and around Lake Michigan to Chicago.

Day 5

On today's optional guided tour you'll have the chance to explore the highlights of the city where the term 'jazz' was first coined and where the electric sound of the 'Chicago' blues was created as southern musicians drifted north.

Take in the view from one of the city's skyscrapers, wander the lakefront parks and this evening, perhaps take in a famous Blues Club, such as Buddy Guy's famous 'Legends'.

Day 6

Trace the course of Route 66 as you head south - via Springfield, Illinois, and its wayside celebrations of the 'Mother Road' - to St Louis where the famous Arch towers over the Mississippi, and the city's vibrant music scene.

Day 7

Entering 'The South', today you'll journey to Tennessee. You'll pass Clarksville - where the young Jimi Hendrix was discovered - and stop in Nashville, the heart of the country music scene.

Elvis' beloved hometown, Memphis, is forever linked with 'The King', but boasts a musical heritage to match any city. Soak up the atmosphere - and the sounds - on Beale Street, this evening.

Day 10

Today we'll visit Sun Studio, the recording birthplace of legends from Elvis to BB King, and perhaps the most famous southern 'mansion' of all - Elvis's iconic Graceland.

This evening, why not head out to enjoy a meal of pulled pork, ribs and shoulders? Memphis is one of America's barbecue capitals.
