Get close to the scenery that Canada is so famous for as you spend 7-nights camping in some of the country’s most spectacular national parks. Exhilarating excursions include rafting, mountain-biking, hiking and so much more! Once you have experienced the best of Canada’s natural landscapes, you will head to the sparkling metropolis of Edmonton for a whirlwind city break. This holiday is sure to thrill – no matter your age!

Day 1: Fly UK to Calgary

On arrival into Calgary Airport, transfer to your overnight hotel in the city’s downtown. After spending some time exploring the area, meet your guide during diner to discuss your pre-trip information. The excitement starts here!

Day 2: Banff National Park

Day 3: Banff National Park

Today you will ride the famous gondola (included) which will take you to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for a bird’s eye view of the valley below and the town of Banff and Tunnel Mountain. Don’t forget to take some family photos! Later take an easy 1 km trail which leads to Sanson Peak.  In the afternoon you will take part in a fun-filled 3-hour float trip on the Bow River in rubber rafts.  Sit back and relax as you drift past breath-taking scenery – who knows what you will see en route!

Day 4: Banff National Park

Today you will experience the thrill of a lifetime as you hit the tracks on a mountain bike on some of the best cross-country trails in the Rockies. After your skills course you are all ready to spend the day exploring the trails and tracks. An evening of stories round the campfire makes the perfect end to your day in the mountains.

Day 5: Banff National Park/Lake Louise

As you gaze at the picture-perfect scenery around famous Lake Louise, you know that you are truly in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. Walk the shore of the pristine lake - rent a canoe, or why not simply find a bench and just take in the view? Among the number of easy to more strenuous trails, we suggest the 3.5 km (2 mi) path with 400 m gain (1325 ft) to the historic teahouse for a well-deserved bite to eat! From here there is a network of trails is tempting you to go further and higher to nearby peaks and glaciers.

Hiking time 3 - 5 hours.

Day 6: Jasper National Park

Today you will travel along one of the most remarkable alpine routes in the world; the Icefields Parkway. You may catch a glimpse of Bighorn sheep, mountain goats and bears rambling alongside you. At the immense Columbia Icefields, you will hike 2.5 km to a ridge with magnificent views of Saskatchewan Glacier, Mounts Athabasca and Andromeda and the icy cap of Snow Dome. You will then arrive at your campsite where you will be based for the next 3 days, in close proximity to the mountain village of Jasper.

Hiking time 1 - 2 hours.

Day 7: Jasper National Park

Today you can walk along the narrow Maligne Canyon, the river roaring through the narrow gorge, for the ultimate thrill. A side trip into the mountains will take you to Maligne Lake, one of Canada’s most photographed locations. Here again is a good chance to see wildlife from close up. At Maligne Lake you can hike an 8 km (5 mile) circuit through flower covered alpine meadows to an elevation of 2150 m (7190 ft), or take a 90 minute boat cruise (optional) to Spirit Island at the far end of the lake. This evening you will embark on a photo safari to spot more animals!

Day 8: Jasper National Park

Today we suggest you saddle up on a trail ride into the mountains on quiet horses, led by experienced horse wranglers. There are also bike and canoe rentals, white water rafting, as well as making a splash in a clear mountain lake. The peak experience of Sulphur Skyline is a perfect last impression of the Rocky Mountains. Starting almost at tree line with a short but steep climb you reach a ridge with views better than you can even imagine. Your reward for your efforts is the relaxing warm outdoor pool of the Miette Hot Springs (included).

Hiking time 3 hours.

Day 9: Edmonton

Today you leave the mountains behind and drive 4 hours through ranch and farm country to the electric city of Edmonton. Your hotel is near West Edmonton Mall. This gigantic shopping and amusement centre is home to a roller coaster, wave pool, ice skating rink, mini golf, hundreds of shops, dozens of restaurants and much, much more! A day pass for any of the rides in Galaxy Land is included, making this the perfect end to your holiday for all the family.

Day 10: Edmonton to UK

Today you will check out of your Edmonton hotel and transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
